Year 3

In year 3, children will begin to learn new PE skills which build on from their time in year 2, improve their physical health and fitness and learn a range of new games, techniques and skills. They will enhance their vocabulary, develop social skills, work as a team and begin to set themselves targets and challenges.

Year 4

In year 4, children will begin to refine their PE skills which build on from their time in year 3. They will improve their physical health and fitness and begin to understand and follow a range rules in familiar games, as well as refining techniques and skills. They will build on their ability to explain key vocabulary, develop social skills, work as a team and begin to set themselves targets and challenges that they will personally work on.

Year 5

In year 5, children will begin to refine their PE skills which build on from their time in year 4. They will improve their physical health and fitness and continue to follow a range rules in familiar games, as well as starting to adapt rules to make games more challenging. They will be able to explain key vocabulary, develop social skills, begin to take lead within team games and continue to set themselves targets and challenges that they will personally work on.

Year 6

In year 6, children will continue to refine their PE skills which build on from their time in year 5. They will improve their physical health and fitness and create and implement a range rules in various games, as well as continuing to adapt rules to make games more challenging and fun. They will be able to confidently explain key vocabulary, improve social skills, take lead within team games and continue to set themselves and others' targets and challenges that they will personally work on.
