Online Safety
In order for children to achieve our school motto of: Together, Believe, Achieve and Shine, they need to be able to keep themselves and others safe. 99% of children across England have access to the internet at home and at school.
Around 60% of children in Junior Schools have a mobile phone or access to one. In order to safeguard children it is crucial that they learn to balance the benefits offered by technology with a critical awareness of their own and other’s online behaviour and develop effective strategies for staying safe and making a positive contribution online.
As a school, we follow the framework 'Education for a Connected World' to support Online Safety as recommended by the Department for Education. We are also offering families the opportunities to learn about online safety through completing courses through the National College. A link to the framework and online courses can be found below. If you have any concerns or would like further guidance about keeping your child safe online please feel free to email me at: rmiller@wilbury.herts.sch.uk.
