Clubs and Shine Awards

Our clubs, which are five weeks long and take place each half term, finished this week. These have been well attended and have received many shine awards from the gardening club and clay club, taking part in an external sports day, and so many more. Please let me know when your child has excelled or participated in something outside of school. It is so nice to see the children get the Shine awards in assembly, and it does support their personal development and self-esteem. Our club letters for the next half term will go out next week; please do sign up for a Shine Club if you have not already.

Mental Health Day

Our mental health day on Thursday was a resounding success. Children participated in various activities and wore yellow to show their support. We are grateful for your support and involvement in this critical initiative.

Agora

On Monday, the whole school participated in one of our Agora Values days, which was about ambition. Children made posters about what they dreamed of being when they were older. It was lovely to hear their ambitions.

Parents Evening

Next week, we have our first parents' evening of the year. This will happen in the school hall and ask that parents come in from 3:30 pm- this will give staff time to dismiss the children, grab a drink and start the parent sessions. I will be around in the evening, so if you want to come and say hello or tell me about your good ideas for the school, please come and speak to me. We will have some books for parents to share with the children while they are waiting to be seen.  We look forward to seeing you all over the next two weeks.

Play Leaders

Today, we had the year 5 and 6 play leader training, where some children were trained to be play leaders and supported year 3 and 4 children in school. They will receive badges and will be working with the children soon.

Wilbury Parliament

The school council met this week and is working towards different activities. The eco council is working on the school becoming a single-use plastic bottle-free zone starting in January. They will make posters and tell children why this is good for the planet and saves money. The Wellbeing committee will be working on Children and Needs and what we will be doing as a school, and the curriculum committee will be working towards our curriculum evening in November.
