Dear Parents

Despite the town event's cancellation of the singing a few weeks ago, a particular highlight was singing at St Thomas Church on Wednesday with Fernhill to an audience. We're also thrilled to share that the children from Fernhill will be singing in school next week with Wilbury, providing another opportunity to showcase their talents and work together.

Governors

We sadly say goodbye to Vanessa Mclean and Jo Lea. Thank you for the several years of support as governors. We wish you well and thank you for the time spent over the last few years. We welcome Mr Thomas Dunk and Mr Fabian Smith as new governors to Wilbury. We are excited about the future and look forward to a fruitful collaboration with them over the coming years.

Keeping Safe inside

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep children safe in school, we regularly conduct various checks and drills, such as fire drills each term. Next week, we will conduct a drill to help children stay safe inside. This will involve children hearing a noise, staying in the classrooms with the blinds closed and windows shut, and quietly sitting away from the doors and windows. We will discuss this with the children to ensure they understand the importance of these safety measures. Please rest assured that this is not meant to scare the children but to empower them to know how to stay safe in school.

Dates

• Monday 9th December - Year 6 SATs meeting for all parents, 5 pm-6 pm. Please bring your child, too.
• Wednesday 11^th December - Years 3 and 4 go to the  panto
• Tuesday 17th December - Christmas Dinner Day. On this day, Children can wear Christmas jumpers or school uniforms.
• Wednesday 18^th December - Year 4 Christmas production Wednesday 18^th December at 2 pm (separate letter being sent out to Year 4 parents)
• Thursday 19^th December - Christmas Panto at Hertford theatre (children can bring their snack- no nuts and a packed lunch will be needed)
• Friday 20^th December - Singing to parents at 1:00 pm
• Friday 20^th December 2024 -  School closes at 1:30 pm End of term

* Wednesday 8^th January 2025- Children return after the Christmas break
