It's been a chilly start to the week, but the children have returned from their break refreshed and ready for the exciting half term ahead. We've launched this week with a special focus on geography, a subject that plays a crucial role in developing our children's understanding of the world around them.

Being Safe

Year 6 had a great trip on Monday to Hazard Alley, a facility in Milton Keynes that supports children in understanding and managing potential hazards.  The trip was a success, with the company's prompt reorganization ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all. This trip is now a routine part of our Year 6 curriculum, providing a valuable learning experience in a safe environment.

When our year 3 students join us, they all participate in the Protective Behaviours program. This certified program is designed to equip children with the knowledge and skills to stay safe, supporting our school's commitment to their well-being.

Clubs

All clubs start next week. Our clubs run for 5-week blocks. The reason for this is that in case one is missed, we are able to do an additional session. Along with that, children seem happy to commit to 5 weeks and will stay even if they would not do the activity again, meaning this is value for money for you.

We offer free Shine clubs to all children, and we encourage you to book your child into one if they have not yet participated. Later this term, we will be reaching out to parents and children to discuss how we can further support them in engaging in out-of-school activities, demonstrating our commitment to your child's holistic development.

Parents and children have asked to see all of the clubs for the year ahead. We did this for the Shine clubs, but we realise this can at times cause clashes with other clubs. Mr Rust and I will be working on this, so you know far in advance.

Book Fair

The traveling book fair is in school and will be open on Friday, Monday and Tuesday- this will be via the front reception and will take place in the dining room. All purchases are done online. The book fair will be open from 3:15pm on these days.

Football Tournaments

We have several football tournaments over the next few weeks. We will let you know the results as and when they happen.

New Website

Over the half term we had our new website. Please do let me know if your feelings on this and if you feel you want to see more or less on it. We have changed this to align and show consistency with other schools in our Multi Academy Trust
